The environment of all three classes is bright, spacious and inviting. The rooms are organised, calm and beautifully laid out, so children are excited to come inand explore the class. In each corner of the classroom there is a spark of interest waiting for children to explore, whether in the bookcorner, construction area, fine motor table or in the fantasy area. During the course of the day, children move between the indoor and outdoor environments going from learning about numbers, writing their names, to playing on our open grass areas with a fully equipped jungle gym and play area.

Our goal is to make these “new to school” young little learners feel special and safe in the classroom environment. Daily, these little learners explore through play, movement, music, art activities and signing. We hope that every child who passes through the Jungle Cubs class move on knowing that they are special, loved and that they have developed a real love for learning through play.

We strive to create a stimulating environment which is fun, exciting and loving where all learners feel safe and secure to grow and learn in all the areas of development. They will learn about sharing, respect and forgiveness, learning through play yet exploring the beginning knowledge of numbers and letters in a fun way. They will learn to master new skills and grow with confidence and skill.

Each day this group is welcomed with different station activities to help them explore, grow in knowledge and confidence. Their language becomes stronger which helps lead to the beginning skills in writing, reading and emergence of number sense and recognition. There are great changes in their development which we nurture, making them feel safe and excited while giving them an excellent head start and foundation for further learning in life.
In the morning, the children are personally welcomed into the classroom by the educators, supporting each child in the transition between home and school. The daily routine is well-planned by the educators, using age-specific resources with relation to class theme.
The daily programme includes free play indoors and outdoors, morning ring, music and movement, creative arts, sports, snack time and story time. Our educators encourage all children to explore each activity, to help support and grow their skills in all the different learning areas during the school day.
