Each member of our team aspires to make Kids on the Bay a fun and happy place to be a part of. We do our utmost to send our learners home at the end of the day with their cups filled to the brim with love, support, new knowledge, and a whole lot of happiness.

Nicole Woolley

Founder and Educator

Nicole is a qualified Bed Foundation Phase Educator. She studied through UNISA and majored in Psychology. She has 13 years of experience and taught Grade 1’s at Camps Bay Primary School before starting Kids on the Bay Preschool in 2015. She is an ex-Camps Bay pupil and is a proud mother of two girls. “I have known since High school that I wanted to work with young children. I get a great sense of achievement from watching little learners develop and grow as individuals. If I can have a positive impact on their future, to teach them to be the best they can be, then I feel I have reached my goal.”

Skye Venter

Educator

Skye joined the Kids on the Bay team in 2018, thrilled to be back in education after having her two little ones. She is a qualified educator with 9 years’ experience in childcare and education, including coaching ball skills as a Play Ball instructor. “I have always gravitated towards children. I love their energy and excitement for life. Seeing that little spark in their eye when they grasp a concept or finally achieve a skill is what teaching is all about.”

Michaela Gomes

Educator

Michaela’s journey in education began in 2016 having been passionately dedicated to Early Childhood Development. Michaela obtained a BA degree in English Language from Wits University in Johannesburg, before relocating to Cape Town. Michaela has been a committed educator at KOTB since 2020 and draws daily inspiration from unique developmental moments that occur. “I believes in a hands-on approach to education together with an understanding and caring environment.”

Tegwyn Thomas

Educator

Tegwyn is a qualified teacher with a Diploma in Early childhood Development and CAPS. She has worked locally and abroad with children for over the past 12 years. She has been part of Kids on the Bay since June 2016, completing her teaching practical with us, working as an aftercare facilitator and then following on to become one of our educators. "I enjoy helping and encouraging children to be the best version of themselves, whilst remaining true to their own personality."

Confidence Zimbwa

Teachers Assistant

Confidence is a single mother, a Zimbabwean by nationality and has an Advanced Level Certificate. She has been part of Kids on the Bay since 2019 as a teacher assistant. "My passion is to rise shining superheroes of tomorrow; well-mannered, educated, physically strong, passionate little people.”

Linda Chidavarume

Teachers Assistant

Linda is a qualified Au-pair & has completed a Childcare Pre-school SLinda has a certificate in early childhood care and education (ECCE). She has been a teacher assistant at Kids on the Bay since 2017. Linda is married with 2 children, which made her realise the joy and happiness she feels when working with young children. “Being around children and giving them love as though they are my own, is such a blessing.”timulating Childhood development course.Linda is a mother of 2 and has been part of Kids on the Bay since January 2016.Linda is the assisting teacher for the Toddler playgroup 4-5 year old class.

Izzie

Groundsman and Security Guard

Ezekiel is married, with 2 children and has a junior certificate of Education. In 2014, he worked at Spring field school and then moved to work as a security guard at the Camps Bay Continental Shop. Ezi joined Kids on the Bay in 2019, his enthusiasm and joy to be around children is evident to all, especially at outside play time.

Annabelle Woolley

Aftercare Facilitator

Annabelle is a second-year student in Education. She was born in Johannesburg but raised in Cape Town. Having gained much of her experience through assisting and job shadowing teachers at Kids on The Bay, Annabelle’s passion to become a fully qualified teacher only grows more and more each day. Since January 2022, Annabelle has run the KOTB aftercare program. “Being able to create a safe and fun environment for children to play and learn in is what I strive for everyday. Seeing a child excited to come into aftercare is the most rewarding feeling.”

Spiwe Mutasa

Teacher-Assistant

Spiwe has an Au- Pair certificate, 6 years’ experience working as a nanny and 3 years working as a housekeeper. She is married with 3 kids and chose to work as a nanny because she loves kids and enjoys working with little ones. “Getting to watch them grow and celebrate each new stage in their life right alongside them, is magical to be part of.”
